The Craters of the Moon are a geothermal site near Lake Taupo, New Zealand. The landscape formed by this activity is really fascinating, with the evaporating fumes glowing in the low winter evening sun.

Francine, as always the light and its direction play a huge role – it was late and we barely made it out of the park before it closed, but earlier in the day such background-lit fumes wouldn’t have been possible.
