The first time I came to Labrador I took a walk along the beach. Something was moving in the sand just where another person walked, so I went closer as I was curious what it would be. Strangely, by the time I arrived, no movement was to be seen and the only thing left were small holes in the sand. As I stared at the sand, hundreds of little soldier crabs crawled out of the sand and started to feed again, being quick to run away or burrow themselves when I moved. It is such a great sight to see literally thousands of them run along the beach, you really have to see it yourself: but just in case, here’s a photo (see the tiny crabs running on the sand)!
