Mictyris sp.

This little fellow, a rather large soldier crab or Mictyris sp., was brave enough not to vanish into the sand – even though I had to get quite near with my 35mm macro lens. I could spend hours watching them walk around the beach here in Labrador! The are quite shy, so you have to try to move as little as possible and hope they ignore you. I am also very happy with the details the cheap 35mm Zuiko lens produces on my Olympus E-5!
