Tiny moth

Tiny moth

E-PL1 , 60 mm, 1/160 sec at F 4.5.

I found this tiny moth just a few meters away from my home in Nagoya. There is an empty lot where everything is allowed to grow during spring and summer, providing not only a nice patch of green to the neighbourhood but also a habitat for fellows like the tiny moth. I shot this one with my new Olympus E-PL1 in combination with the heavy Zuiko 12-60mm – a rare combination, yet capable of great image quality. The small aperture of 4.5 made it possible to shoot this one without a tripod and makes it a kind of portrait rather than a classical insect macro shot.
